Oracle won’t collaborate on LibreOffice

Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols from ComputerWorld writes in “The OpenOffice fork is officially here” about a mail received from Oracle after OpenOffice’s newborn fork LibreOffice.
Oracle encourages the OpenOffice community to contribute directly to it. Although explaining that  The Document Foundation “will help advance OpenOffice and the Open Document Format (ODF), we wish them the best”, we can assume Oracle is not going to join The Document Foundation, nor giving away their name OpenOffice, nor contribute to LibreOffice.
On the other hand, The Document Foundation congratulates themselves about the strong support received in just one week from their announcement of LibreOffice. The beta of LibreOffice has been downloaded 80.000 times and received around 80 code contributions from 27 volunteers.
