About the title of this blog
The first title was "Another blog about free software". Later I changed it to "The bright side" as a tribute of Monty Python's "Always look at the bright side of life" (from Brian's Life film). The background philosophy of free software and its communities also make me feel these good vibrations coming from the bright side of life.

Thanks Ian, thanks Debian
I didn’t know Ian Murdock but the news about his passing left me with a very strange and sad feeling, because he started the project that creates the tool that I use every day in my work, and everyday in … Continue reading

Software Freedom Conservancy supporter
I think it’s important that organizations as Software Freedom Conservancy exist. They provide a non-profit home, infrastructure, and advice for FLOSS projects. They take care that the will of the project members, choosing free software licenses, is respected by third … Continue reading

Six months selfhosting: my userop experiences
Note: In this post I mention some problems and ask questions (to myself, like “thinking aloud”). The goal is not to get answers to those questions (I suppose that I will find them soon or later in the internet, manuals … Continue reading

How contributors.debian.org helped in my email address migration
Some months ago I changed my preferred email address. I updated my profile in different sites to point to the new address, and changed my subscriptions in mailing lists. I forgot about subscriptions to Debian bugs. I like that you … Continue reading
